The School also maintains very close links and excellent relationships with industry, commerce, and the relevant professional bodies, which will benefit your career. Many of our staff are involved in a range of research and consultancy work funded by agencies such as the European Union and World Bank and much of this work is applied in the School's postgraduate teaching to ensure our courses remain at the cutting edge of their subject field. In particular our internationally renowned research centres: the George Davies Centre for Retail Excellence, the Centre for Economic Reform and Transformation; the Logistics Research Centre and also the Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies in Scotland Our graduates have excellent employment prospects. Previous graduates have gone on to careers as accountants, financial advisers, brand managers, retail buyers, procurement specialists, project planners, and marketing consultants with both major national and international companies including Amazon, IKEA, Marks & Spencer, Shell, and also Volkswagen.
