Applied Psychology Research

Overview

Applied Psychology at Heriot-Watt University bridges the gaps that are often found between theory and real-world application. Our research activities are focused on two research groups concerning:

• Lifespan Cognitive and Social Development.
• Attention, Perception and Action.

In addition to the research that has been funded by research councils, much of our research is carried out in collaboration with external bodies from the public and private sectors such as the NHS, the Scottish Executive, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Transport and Road Research Laboratory.
