International Fashion Marketing MSc/Diploma/Certificate

Taught Programme

Duration

  • MSc - 12 months full-time;  24 months part-time
  • PGDip - 9 months full-time; 21 months part-time

The course commences in September each year.

Overview

Developed in partnership with the fashion retail visionary, George Davies, who has founded three hugely successful fashion retail businesses (Next, George @ Asda, and per una for Marks & Spencer), our MSc International Fashion Marketing focuses on all aspects of the fashion retail experience, from design right through to the shop floor.

Semester 1

  • Retail Marketing 1: Understanding the Fashion Consumer
  • Retail Marketing 2: Fashion Brand Management
  • Strategic Retail Management

Semester 2

  • Fashion Business Development
  • Fashion Buying and Merchandising Management
  • Fashion Marketing Communications
  • Retail Logistics

Over the summer months students undertake a dissertation.

The programme has strong links with the fashion retail industry having been developed in association with leading fashion retailer and visionary, George Davies.

Programme and course content remains enhanced and supported by our close links with both George Davies and the retail industry.

Teaching staff

Our MSc International Fashion Marketing is delivered by a dedicated team of staff with a wealth of experience in fashion, retail and academia. Programme Director, Professor Neil Towers, has over 20 years commercial experience in senior management roles.

Staff teaching on the programme are at the forefront of research in retail and marketing with many being members of the School’s George Davies Centre for Retail Excellence which is internationally renowned for its research on the retail sector. This research and industry experience feeds directly into the teaching on the programme meaning you benefit from all the latest research and developments within the field.

Entry Requirements

Good honours degree, or qualification equivalent to, in a related subject, and preferably including some marketing.

Applicants with relevant education and work experience may also be considered.

English language requirements

If your first language is not English, or your first degree was not taught in English, we’ll need to see evidence of your English language ability. The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. We offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement prior to starting your masters programme:

  • 2 semesters English (for IELTS of 4.5-5.0);
  • 12 weeks English (for IELTS of 5.5);
  • 6 weeks English (for IELTS 5.5*-6.0). (*minimum 5.5 reading and writing)
