Duration

MSc - 12 months full-time;  24 months part-time
PGDip - 9 months full-time; 21 months part-time

The programmes commence in September each year.

 

Overview

Our MSc International Business Management programmes are aimed at graduates who have little or no business or management background in their first degree and who wish to gain a broad based business qualification to enhance their future career prospects, or at those looking to develop business management knowledge and skills to allow them to change or further their careers.

 

The programmes aim to enhance and build upon existing skills and/or experience to provide relevant business and management training and skills.

 

Five pathways are available:

 

1. MSc in International Business Management with Finance

2. MSc in International Business Management with HRM

3. MSc in International Business Management with Marketing

4. MSc in International Business Management with Logistics

5. MSc in International Business Management with Sustainability Management

Entry Requirements

A good Honours degree, or a qualification equivalent to this.

International students are required to have an IELTS score of 6.5 (with no section lower than 6.0), or a paper-based TOEFL score of 577.

For students who do not meet the minimum IELTS language requirement, or who would like to enhance English language skills before commencing an MSc with us, the Heriot-Watt Pre-Masters Sessions are highly recommended.

 

Further Information

English language requirements

If your first language is not English, or your first degree was not taught in English, we’ll need to see evidence of your English language ability. The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. We offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement prior to starting your masters programme:

  • 2 semesters English (for IELTS of 4.5-5.0);
  • 12 weeks English (for IELTS of 5.5);
  • 6 weeks English (for IELTS 5.5*-6.0). (*minimum 5.5 reading and writing)
