Fundamentals Of Flow In Porous Media
Overview
In addition to the more applied work on the simulation of flow in reservoirs, some more basic research is in progress on the fundamentals of multi-phase flow in porous media. Various projects have been carried out or are in progress on topics such as the mathematics of upscaling and the modelling of two and three phase flow at the pore scale. Network modelling research on the effects of wettability on two phase flow has been active for some time and similar approaches are being applied to the physics of depressurisation. The pore scale modelling of three phase flow in mixed wet systems is also being studied in the context of Water-Alternating-Gas (WAG) displacements. New theory has been developed on the effects of wettability on three phase relative permeabilities and capillary pressures which are required in the numerical simulation of gas injection and WAG processes.English language requirements
If your first language is not English, or your first degree was not taught in English, we’ll need to see evidence of your English language ability. The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. We offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement prior to starting your masters programme:
- 2 semesters English (for IELTS of 4.5-5.0);
- 12 weeks English (for IELTS of 5.5);
- 6 weeks English (for IELTS 5.5*-6.0). (*minimum 5.5 reading and writing)
